Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a number of conversations around death, transition, loss, and our own mortality. Recently, someone shared with me this piece of writing from Osho which really landed in my heart.
You exist in time, but you belong in eternity. You are a penetration of eternity into the world of time. You are deathless living in a body of death. Your consciousness knows no death, no birth. It is only your body that is born and dies. But you are not aware of your consciousness. You are not conscious of your consciousness. And that is the whole art of meditation. Becoming conscious of consciousness itself. Osho
There’s a lot to unpack in this writing, but what brought me to a still point was the first sentence: “You exist in time, but you belong in eternity”.
It carried solace, and felt like home.
