This is how some neurodivergent (including ADHD/ADD) brains may work. I know mine often tracks like this. I learned from a young age to go quiet and not share, so rarely do folks get to see the space in between. Unfortunately, when we silence the space in between, we often silence our voice in general.
When I started teaching, I learned that I am a 'global learner' rather than a sequential learner. Global learning fits well with minds that track like this. Sequential learners go from step 1 to step 2 to step 3. A global learner is one who needs to see the big picture, perhaps take apart the big picture, and then can see the steps that make up the picture.
So, a sequential learner would trace a map from tree 1 to tree 2 to tree 3. But the intriguing thing (to me) about global learners is that once we see the map, we can sometimes extrapolate where the trees will be without having walked the path. An interesting synthesis occurs in that space in between ... where we are going from carnival to wasps ...
